I received the Dell on Nov 19 and immediately started loading Updates after startup.This is where the problems started.I have a 58 Mbps Internet connection and downloads are usually very, very fast.I took 2-3 hours to download the first file, which was a conglomeration of many fixes.The Installation went relatively fast.The next download was Service Pack 1 and that took 3-4 hours.
I checked my Network speed at speedtest.net several times and it indicated from 1 Mbps to 10 Mbps and wouldn't even start a few times.I had my old computer on the table next to it, so I moved the Ethernet cable from the Dell to the old computer and ran Speedtest several times, always indicating 58-59 Mbps.This pretty much told me that the Network card on the Dell was Bad.
I filed a return with Amazon and it was approved by the seller, who wasCandance Ross, thru Amazon - BUT, I was to pay the return shipping fee, which was $65.00.I thought that was not right, since I bought a new computer, but was sold a DEFECTIVE one.I have learned my lesson to not buy through one of the Amazon partners, because I am sure that Amazon would have paid for the shipping costs to return it.

This is my first Dell computer after 20 years of owning Compaq & Hewlett Packard PCs. I'm pleased so far. It was easy to set up & run from the start. I had no problems getting it up & going. It did take a little while to delete the fluff & set it up the way I prefer, but that would be true of any new PC . I'm not a big fan of Windows 10 yet, it seems to want to take more control of my computing & requires more effort on my part to save folders where I want them. But that's an OS issue, not hardware issue. If not for my mild disappointment with Windows 10, I would have given it 5 stars. Most others I've talked to like 10. I don't know if this unit was refurbished or what but the way it was shipped, it's contents packaged and the simple instruction, etc., it makes you question if it was. First, hooked it up, plugged it in, and the desktop couldn't detect the WIFI during setup. After several hours with Dell tech support, it was determined that several drivers were missing, including the WIFI driver and front USB drivers. Did an ethernet connection, a remote assist and still couldn't update the drivers, even in safe mode. After 3 hours, the screen went blank and started to illustrate all the different colors in the rainbow with intermittent static shots. What a joke. Dell wanted to send a tech out to fix, within the next 3 business days. BIOS reported that no WIFI card was installed after trying to update drivers so tech determined it's also a hardware issue. I asked why wasn't this tested before being shipped out and they responded that since it was Amazon's product for sale, they are suppose to test it.
I am shipping it back today. What a joke and waste of my time! Black Friday is around the corner, I'll find a better deal and comp. I only bought this machine because of all the rave reviews. Just proves again, how much that really matters.

I called Dell to find out why the MS Office Trial wasn't working and found out it was already 92 days old. Doesn't make sense since I bought it 2/5/16 and received it, plugged it in on 2/11/16. So far no response from the seller.
Here it is 10/5/16 with no response from Amazon, except a "Thank you feedback email" and no response from the seller, I now have a desktop computer that is not working. Do I call Dell, the seller or Amazon? Not sure of the direction to go. The computer was set up without a password and now it will not continue to the desktop until I put in a password. So what's a customer to do when we have this kind of problem????

very fast computer. Windows 7 is great. No software issues with my older software, except ROXIO dvd creator 8 will not work. It does come with a windows 8.1 CD disc,,but no windows 7 CD disc. Why Dell does this is beyond me. I had to spend a hour on the phone with some tech. in India to convince them to send me a windows 7 CD disc. (he wanted me to send my computer back to Amazon) I told him no way just send me the disc. Dell needs to get better trained people on their support lines. I do like Dell's web site where it will help me update drivers.Must update drivers on this machine. I down loaded a game from the internet and afterward the computer just gave me a black screen. So to fix this I unplugged computer with out pushing the off button. When I started it back up I was given a safe mode screen and choose fix problem. Win 7 fixed the problem. The disk Dell sent me did not fix the problem. So 4 stars for the computer & 1 star for Dell support.

great deal on this desktop you can't go wrong with low price and expandable options. I got a used model from Amazon warehouse and it's fantastic. I bout a 4gb memory stick and upgraded the ram on it to 8gb (comes with 4gb memory stick and one open slot and can read up to 16gb ram). has graphic card slot to install a higher end graphic upgrade and extra slot to run 2 hard drives as well as extra slot for 2 disc drives. This PC is fast and cheap and can be made faster on a budget. Runs windows 7 pro but comes with windows 8.1 disc and shows windows 8 pro sticker on chassis not sure what's the deal with that but that's how they shipped it.
So far I haven't had any issues with it. It runs fast and I can keep everything I need on it without worrying about losing space. It's big and though I thought it wouldn't bother me, it does. Not enough to rate it any lower, but I've kicked it and stubbed my toe several times. Which is my fault. Other than it's bulkiness I love it. I was a loyal hp user until I bought a windows 8.1 all in one computer and it was horrible so I decided to switch to Dell, and I haven't been disappointed. ***Updated*** After using this for so long, I still love it. It's fast and stores literally everything I need plus some. I have learned not to stub my toe and set upmy desk area to where it's further back and underneath.
Arrived a day after promised delivery date but it was worth the wait. Computer was very easy to install and setup. I was glad that this computer was available with Windows 7 Pro. Reviews for Windows 8 just did not justify getting one with a OS that has had so many problems. I have a Dell Inspironlaptop with Windows 7 and have been extremely happy with it. I was surprised that the package was just left on the porch without a signature. Could have been easily stolen. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase.
Unit is a bit large by more modern desktop/tower standards, but that's the price one pays for an upright tower where your DVDs and CDs don't fall out as you insert or remove them and you want the elbow room for future expansion or upgrade.Unit that arrived had a single 4GB module with an empty slot for a second 4GB module, recommended with Win 7 Pro or higher.All-around excellent basic computer that will likely outlast the operating systems--as did my earlier slimline Dell XP box.
The computer never worked properly...I believe it was a used rather than a new computer...this is the first time I have tried a Dell computer...it crashed completely after only two (2) months...in the process of trying to make it work I had a heart attack and had to go to the ER...what do I do now...anyone have any suggestions.
