These moccasins are dip dyed and it is rich in colour and looks fabulous. We have explained below how we made this. The Dip Dye process is a process that gives the shoe a rich intensive colour whilst enhancing the natural softness of the leather. This special process created traditionally made shoes which offer a look and feel unique to Nico Nerini shoes. The uppers are made from uncoloured leathers. They are immersed in dyes and tumbled in large wooden drums, this dyes through the upper leather. The lining and the sticking giving the shoe a deep rich tone not attainable with a normal process. After tumbling the uppers are naturally dried in the air and the final softened back in the shoe factory. The uppers are prepared and the soles attached still in their natural colour, finally, the soles are hand painted with the same dye until a depth of colour matching the upper has achieved. Traditional hand finishing and burnishing results in a classic Nico Nerini shoe product which a fantastic depth and the range of colours and a supple feel.
